| Of Nicaraguan descent, Grecia Margarita Gonzalez resides in La Puente, California and graduated from Nogales High School as the Valedictorian of her class, boasting a perfect 4.0 un-weighted GPA. Grecia is a College Board AP Scholar, National Merit Commended Scholar, National Hispanic Scholar Finalist, and an International Baccalaureate Diploma candidate. Furthermore, she is an active volunteer with the California Scholarship Federation and was one of only five students in the state to receive the Seymour Memorial Scholarship Finalist Award in recognition of her outstanding community service and academic excellence. Grecia is a recipient of the Gates Millennium Scholarship, and the Rensslaer Medal for Math and Science for her exemplary academic performance in the these areas of study. In addition to academics, Grecia is involved in the Arts, and she performed in her high school’s orchestra as First Violin and Lead Player. This summer, Grecia plans on preparing herself academically before heading to Cambridge, Massachusetts in the fall, where she will attend Harvard College and study Biology and Engineering. |
