Edward Leyba is no stranger to adversity. At a young age, his father passed away leaving behind his mother to raise him on her own. Realizing that life was going to be difficult for himself and his mother, Edward knew his real opportunity for advancement was to receive a higher education. Without a doubt, Edward?s dedication to academic achievement, performing arts and community service has prepared him to succeed at the collegiate and professional level. Edward is an active leader and member of several organizations, such as the National Honor Society, the Generation Excellence Team and the Junior Leadership League. Edward received the ?Student of the Month? award at his high school twice.  He also received several awards at his place of employment, while maintaining a near perfect GPA and earning a 1330 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test. In addition, Edward excelled as a violin student for 8 years and has achieved two varsity letters in orchestra.  ?Edward exemplifies the best in all areas of his life. He has been able to balance all of these activities which is indicative of his strong maturity level and a well-rounded personality,? says his Counselor, Stella Hunsaker. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree from the College of Business, he plans on attending law school with aspirations of a career as a federal court judge.
