| Latisha Thorne Therio, a senior at Winslow High School, is the Silver Medallion 2006 Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards Phoenix Regional Winner in Healthcare, sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline. Latisha is currently enrolled in both high school and college level curricula as a member of the NAVIT Nursing Assistant Program, and has a perfect high school GPA of 4.0 and a near perfect 3.87, in her college-level classes. This Mexican-American young lady also finds time to give back to her community through organizations like SADD – Students Against Drunk Driving, First Priority, and the Honor Society. Latisha’s ultimate dream is to become a pediatric nurse. She will continue her college career in September at Gateway Community College. |
