| Chantilly’s Marlen Penaloza has wanted to be a teacher since eighth grade. A first-generation Bolivian-American, and first in her family to attend college, Marlen had a difficult time overcoming the language barrier. With a 3.91 GPA at Chantilly High School, she is now able to help others excel in school through the Chantilly Pyramid Minority Student Achievement, where she helps other students struggling in school. Next year she will have several Virginia Universities to choose from. |
