Of Cuban descent, Jancarlo Perez resides in Miami and attends Miami Coral Park Senior High School. With a 3.68 GPA, Jancarlo is an AP student and the recipient of the Sunshine Scholars Program, AP Scholar with Distinction, MIT MITES Program, and Excellence in AP Chemistry Awards. An aspiring science teacher, he discovered his passion for sharing knowledge during a presentation at his brother’s elementary school. Driven to always go above and beyond, Jancarlo is a member of Drill Team and JROTC, and volunteers with the League Against Cancer. The first in his family to attend college, Jancarlo will go to MIT this fall and major in Condensed Matter Theory Physics and Chemistry.
