Michael Edward Welch of West Chester, Pennsylvania attends Unionville High School, where he holds a perfect 4.0 GPA. Of Puerto Rican descent, Michael is an AP and Honors student, National Merit Finalist, National Hispanic Recognition Scholar, Bausch & Lomb Scholar, U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad Qualifier, and Mock Trial Case Best Advocate. Nominated by school faculty, Michael staffed a peer leadership weekend for underclassmen. For the past three years, he has coordinated a neighborhood school supply drive for the Latin American Community Center. Aspiring to use scientific innovations to help people recover from injury and disease, Michael will go off to Stanford University to study Biomedical Engineering and Spanish.
