Emil Tomas Cuadrado
Arts and Culture

Emil T. Cuadrado, graduated from the Creative and Performing Arts High School.  His path has not been an easy one.  After he lost his mother at the age of 11, he has matured quickly and learned to make the most of the cards life deals him.  Barbara Williams, Student Council Sponsor, writes, ?Emil has proven himself to be reliable, thoughtful and serious about the development of his art form; he will truly be an asset to your program.?  His aunt Debra Cuadrado further expressed ?the more disappointments he experienced in his personal life only served to become the catalyst that was consumed by attending a strong and national recognized Performing Arts curriculum.?  Other goals which Emil has achieved have been getting his school involved for the first time in the Puerto Rican Day Parade, Junior Prom, Halloween Costume Contest, and a Senior Class Trip among others.  He was the Public Relations Chairperson for Student Council and President of the school?s ASPIRA Club. He has been recognized with the Michael Walker Award for his performance in a summer career exploration program.  It is for these reasons and many more that Emil T. Cuadrado was recognized and awarded with the Hispanic Heritage Youth Award for the Arts.  He did data entry at and worked as a college monitor at Aspira Inc. of PA and as a music department assistant at WWUH RADIO STATION.  His awards included University of Hartford Program Council Member of the Month (SEPT'99.) He wants to go to NYU for graduate school and wishes to become a recording artist and owner of his own record company.
