Alice Paola Villatoro graduated from the California Academy of Math & Science in Carson, CA. ?Culture is what defines me as the unique individual that I am,? says Alice. The daughter of Salvadoran parents, who emigrated to the U.S. to escape that country?s bloody civil war, Paola calls herself ?Amerispanic,? a product of meshed cultures.
Paola is an outstanding student and received such honors as Golden State Exam Honors in Biology, Chemistry and U.S. History as well as Recognitions in Science. She was in the National Honor Society, she attended the NASA SHARP Apprenticeship Program at the University of New Mexico, where she worked with another apprentice learning how to design and build a multi-stage probe for the planet Mars. Paola will be the first in her family to graduate from college.
