Funding will support Latinx On Fast Track Leadership Institute programming for Hispanic youth across the country

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) today announced a $100,000 donation from iHeartMedia in recognition of T-Mobile’s continued support of the Hispanic community.  Funds will be used to support the Latinx On Fast Track (LOFT) Leadership Institute (LLI), which sponsors Hispanic students at the top of their classes from around the country to participate in an interactive, summer-long curriculum focused on leadership, community-building, professional development, social impact, and cultural pride.

Launched this year as an extension of HHF’s 23-year-old Youth Awards program, 300 LOFT Fellows are selected from more than 30,000 applicants – from all 50 states plus Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C. – and are placed in the LLI to develop professional skills across 10 sectors including STEM fields and entrepreneurship.  The program also focuses on developing innovative leadership particularly among first generation and students from low-income households.

“T-Mobile has been a valued partner to the Hispanic Heritage Foundation for years, and their support of LOFT and other programs have had a powerful impact for the Latinx community,” said Antonio Tijerino, president and CEO of HHF.  “We are also thankful to T-Mobile for inviting iHeartIMPACT to this collaboration and we welcome iHeartMedia to our mission along with their millions of listeners.”

iHeartIMPACT, iHeartMedia’s social impact division, joins this longstanding collaboration as a media partner alongside T-Mobile to raise awareness around HHF’s mission, to elevate Latinx voices, and to increase Latinx representation in media.

“This Hispanic Heritage Month, T-Mobile is continuing our efforts to champion diversity, equity and inclusion by teaming up with iHeartIMPACT to support the Hispanic Heritage Foundation’s education and enrichment programming that will unlock the potential of Latino and Latina students across the country,” said Janice V. Kapner, T-Mobile’s chief communications and brand officer. “Great partnerships like these drive meaningful positive change for the Hispanic community, and we are so excited to be a part of it.”
