Bilingual “Master Your Card” campaign will be a part of HHF’s Financial Educational Programs

WASHINGTON, DC –  The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) announced today that for the third year in a row, Mastercard will serve as the Foundation’s Official Payments Network Sponsor of the October 8th PBS broadcast of the 34th Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards. As part of the partnership, Mastercard will also be supporting the 23rd Annual Hispanic Youth Awards. HHF will continue promoting the financial well-being of the Latinx/Hispanic community through the bilingual “Master Your Card” financial education campaign.

“The Hispanic Heritage Foundation is thrilled to once again partner with Mastercard as our Official Payments Network sponsor to collectively celebrate and share the great promise, accomplishments, and cultural pride of the Latinx community through the 34th Hispanic Heritage Awards PBS,” said Antonio Tijerino, President and CEO, HHF. “More than ever, it’s important to shine the spotlight on the tremendous value Latinos provide this great country we all share and tell our stories and celebrate with America.”

“Mastercard is honored to continue our standing partnership with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation as the Official Payments Network Sponsor of their upcoming 34th Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards,” said Mercedes Garcia, Vice President of Community Relations, Mastercard. “HHF’s championing of the Latinx community has been incredibly impactful and transformative, and we are proud to stand with them in our collaborative mission to enhance the lives, and financial well-being of the Latinx community.”

This year’s Awards, modeled after last year’s PBS broadcast, will once again feature more intimately filmed performances and Honoree segments captured on location across the United States and Latin America.  Last year’s program had the highest ratings and reached more people in the PBS Broadcasts’ history with Awardees including Selena Gomez, Linda Ronstadt, Jessica Alba, Bad Bunny, John Lewis, and our Farmworkers.

About Master Your Car Master Your Card is a community empowerment education program sponsored by Mastercard, that works with committed partners nationwide to bring information about the benefits of electronic payments technology for underserved communities to build brighter financial futures. The program has facilitated presentations and workshops in numerous cities around the country, provided financial education to tens of thousands of students and reached millions through partners’ initiatives and education materials.

The Hispanic Heritage Awards, produced by the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, were created by the White House in 1988 to commemorate the establishment of Hispanic Heritage Month in America and is among the highest honors by Latinos for Latinos and supported by 40 national Hispanic-serving institutions.

About the Hispanic Heritage Foundation and the Youth Awards  The Hispanic Heritage Foundation is a national, nonprofit focused on education, workforce, social impact, and culture through leadership. Through HHF’s 23-year-old Youth Awards program, hundreds of high-achieving Latinx high school students are recognized across the country and provided with grants for their education or in support of an idea for social impact.  More than 5 million dollars have been provided and hundreds of the ideas and projects have been supported.  Once they are vetted through the Youth Awards, alumni are connected to a larger network providing mentors, activities, and career path opportunities through the award-winning LOFT (Latinos On Fast Track) program throughout college, grad school and into their careers.
