WASHINGTON, D.C. – TikTok and The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) are teaming up again for another round of Creciendo con TikTok (Growing with TikTok) program in support of Latino small businesses across the United States.  Creciendo con TikTok is a $200,000 grant fund that will provide cash awards of $5,000 to 40 Latinx small business owners who have demonstrated perseverance, resourcefulness, hard work, and entrepreneurial vision in their communities.

150 million Americans and 5 million businesses use TikTok to create a real world positive impact, from spotlighting local restaurants and raising money for local causes to kickstarting the latest trends in art and music. We’re proud to partner with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation to support the Latino community through our small business grant program and local events aimed at empowering the community.” – Sofia Hernandez, Global Head of Business Marketing.

In addition to the grant, TikTok and HHF’s partnership will include:

  • Hosting virtual and in-person workshops and networking activities across multiple cities
  • Releasing research on SMB-related topics
  • Supporting a youth-based entrepreneurship program
  • And, executing a coding program called Code as a Second Language (CSL), which will introduce computer programming and provide tech career paths to Latinos.

TikTok creates a unique space for Latino business owners and creators to start, grow and thrive and have a positive impact on their communities as well as the United States through entrepreneurship. HHF and TikTok share a joint mission to promote cultural pride and economic opportunities for Latino entrepreneurs and leaders from the established to our youth – it’s about growth.” – Antonio Tijerino, Hispanic Heritage Foundation President and CEO.

Latino communities across the US have experienced the positive real world impact of TikTok. For example, small businesses turn to TikTok to share their world in a fun authentic way, and as a result, they are reaching new customers, hiring more employees and growing their business. TikTok is also where people discover and support small businesses, with 44% of TikTok users say that they discovered something on the platform and immediately went out to buy it, according to this Global Retail Path To Purchase Study.

The TikTok community has had a huge impact on our story since our very first video. Our first video hit over 400k views and that is when messages, comments started pouring in from others about how they loved the Pinole Blue story because they could see the quality of our products and the passion behind it.” – Eddie Sandoval, Founder and CEO of Pinole Blue.
