Dozens of Hispanic Leaders Honored During HHM
32 Hispanic Leaders Recognized During Hispanic Heritage Month
NFL and Hispanic Heritage Foundation Team for Fifth Annual NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Awards
The NFL and Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) have partnered for the fifth annual NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Awards during the 2015 celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The awards recognize the contributions of Hispanic leaders in each NFL market.
Each award recipient will be recognized at an event in their local market and will select an organization of their choice that serves the local Hispanic community to receive a $2,000 donation.
“Together with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, we are proud to recognize individuals who are an inspiration in their local Hispanic communities,” said Jaime Weston, NFL Senior Vice President of Marketing, Creative and Branding. “We applaud all recipients for the time and dedication they have devoted to make an impact on the lives of others.”
“We are thrilled to partner with the NFL to honor Hispanic leaders who are making an impact on communities all over America,” said Jose Antonio Tijerino, President and CEO of Hispanic Heritage Foundation. “It is important to highlight their leadership not only in the traditional Latino regions, but in recent-growing areas as well. The NFL made sure that beyond the recognition there is an investment in local nonprofits. There is no better way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month than to make a difference in the Latino community year round.”
The NFL celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month during Week 3 of the season.
A national spotlight will be shined on the NFL’s celebration during Thursday Night Football, Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football. The New York Giants will host the Washington Redskins on Thursday, September 24 (8:25 PM ET, CBS and NFL Network), the Denver Broncos will visit the Detroit Lions on Sunday, September 27 (8:30 PM ET, NBC, NBC Universo and Entravision Radio), and the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Green Bay Packers on Monday, September 28 (8:30 PM ET, ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN Deportes Radio).
