Established by the White House in 1988 and supported by 40 national, Latino-serving institutions, the Hispanic Heritage Awards (HHAs) are often recognized as America’s Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration. The event also marks the launch of HHF’s year-round mission focused on education, workforce development, societal impact, and leadership.
The HHAs are broadcast nationally on PBS, and are considered among the highest honors for Latinos by Latinos.
Each year, the HHAs honor achievement, cultural pride, and visionary leadership across a range of fields, from STEM and education to entrepreneurship and the arts. Honorees include community leaders, youth trailblazers, and cultural icons.
Last year’s HHAs took place at the venerable, 100-year-old, Warner Theater in Washington, D.C., on September 4, 2025. Meet our honorees below.
