Hispanic Heritage Foundation President & CEO to be Honored at Annual Leadership Convening in Miami

OAKLAND, CA — Hispanics in Philanthropy (HIP) will recognize Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) President and CEO José Antonio Tijerino as a 2022 HIPGiver recipient during HIP’s Annual Leadership Conference in Miami June 8.  The recognition is reserved for the most innovative, visionary Latine leaders who seek to create catalytic impact for Latines across the continent.

“We are thrilled to honor Toni’s legacy this year,” said Ana Marie Argilagos, President & CEO of Hispanics in Philanthropy.  “HIPGivers represent aspirational Latines who show us what’s possible when you fuel our communities with resources and opportunities.  We chose Toni especially, because he understands the urgency and ingenuity that’s required to generate the next generation of changemakers.”

As a Nicaraguan immigrant and a prominent force in diversity, immigration, workforce development, education, creativity, and youth empowerment, Tijerino has committed is life to building more prepared, stronger, connected, and innovative Latine communities across the U.S. during his nearly 21 years leading HHF.  At HIP’s Annual Leadership Conference, he’ll join Latine advocates from civic society, funders, and policymakers in the same room to challenge the status quo and influence philanthropy to better serve Latine communities.

This year’s slate will join past notable HIPGiver Award recipients including Congressman Joaquin Castro, Soledad O’Brien, Ricky Martin, astronaut José Hernández, and Tony award-winner Lin-Manuel Miranda.
