WASHINGTON, D.C –The Hispanic Heritage Foundation and Experian will host the 2024 Financial Empowerment Summit at the University of the District of Columbia on Monday, April 15th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This free opportunity is designed for Latino students and young professionals to take control of their future by learning about investing, credit building, and understanding taxes, among other financial education skills.
The 2024 Financial Empowerment Summit will bring together a diverse group of financial experts, including Jully Taveras, Founder of Investing Latina; Kimberly Hamilton, author of Building Wealth on a Dime and Founder of BeWorth Finance; Pamela Sams, Financial Advisor at Jackson Sams Wealth Strategies; Angela Neira, Chief Operations Officer, DAPA Multiservices Advisors LLC, Diana Avellaneda, Senior Accountant (MBA) at DAPA Multiservices Advisors, and Veronica Fuentes, Financial Advisor at Northwestern Mutual, who will share their expertise and insights through interactive sessions, workshops, and panel discussions, aims to provide a platform for Latino students and young professionals to gain culturally relevant financial literacy knowledge, enabling them to jump-start their path to financial wellness, and build generational wealth.
“It’s never too early to learn about the basics of credit and financial literacy. Our goal is to normalize conversations about money matters to financially empower young consumers. This group of participants will also be funneled into the LOFT Network, which is a collective of 300,000 students and youth professionals with access to mentors, resources, networking, workshops, symposia, summits, internships, and full-time positions with Fortune 500 Companies.
