ExxonMobil LOFT Fellows: Where are they now?
The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) has partnered with ExxonMobil for the last 16 years to promote young Latino leaders across the country! We want to take a minute to reflect on a few of our outstanding fellows and see what they have been up to. Meet 2016 ExxonMobil Fellow, Stephanie Granada!
HHF’S ExxonMobil Fellowship currently is one of the most distinguished fellowships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields for Hispanic college students. Each year 25 students are chosen to participate in the mentoring program, where the student is paired with an experienced engineer, scientist, manager, to apply their knowledge in a corporate setting.
Stephanie said, “The ExxonMobil Fellowship provided me with a valuable opportunity to assess my character on a professional and personal level. Being given the chance to develop a professional network at this point in time was critical. What were once weaknesses, have been converted into strengths.”
Stephanie is a Chemical Engineering student at the University of Florida. Her mentor was Diego Gallindo, Supply Chain Advisor at ExxonMobil. Diego was a mentor who provided her with his advice, his vision, and whom she still stays in contact to this very day! Stephanie is grateful that Diego not only provided his honest advice, but gave her practical career paths that she could take after completing the Fellowship.
Several meetings were set up with Diego, along with Stephanie’s participation in the on-line Harvard ExxonMobil mentee program, an exclusive curriculum to introduce her to the culture and career opportunities with the company Educational grant.
“My advice to anyone who is looking for internship opportunities, it is better to start sooner than later, the ExxonMobil fellowship is a great opportunity!”
HHF fosters meaningful relationships and is leading Latino leaders with ExxonMobil, one of the world’s largest companies and America’s leading Oil and Gas Corporation, to provide young Latino leaders with the resources needed to succeed once they start their careers!
The deadline to apply to the Exxon Mobil Fellowship is Aprill 11, 2017, to apply to the Fellowship go here!
