Washington, D.C.  – Ahead of its theatrical release on April 12, 2024, the upcoming underdog sports drama The Long Game will be screened on April 9, 2024 at The White House, as part of the efforts of the Biden-Harris Administration to continue engaging with the Latino community. Director and co-writer Julio Quintana will be in attendance alongside cast members Jay Hernandez, Cheech Marin, Julian Works, and Paulina Chávez. Lupe Felan, one of the original caddies upon which the story is based, will also attend.

The Long Game follows the true story of five young Mexican American caddies in 1955 who created their own golf course in the middle of the South Texas brush country. Despite outdated and inferior equipment and no professional instruction to begin with, they went on to compete against wealthy, all-white teams and win the 1957 Texas State High School Golf Championship.

The Hispanic Heritage Foundation, an award-winning nonprofit organization that focuses on education, workforce, social impact and culture will co-host the screening. “We are thrilled to support ‘The Long Game’ and are grateful to The White House for making sure our American stories are being told and seen,” said Hispanic Heritage Foundation President and CEO Antonio Tijerino.  “This is why supporting inspirational, Latino-themed movies and companies like Mucho Mas telling our stories is important.”

“‘THE LONG GAME’ is a must-see film about the perseverance and resilience of young Mexican-American trailblazers in a South Texas border town,” said Congressman Joaquin Castro. “This movie is a powerful counter-narrative to harmful portrayals of Latinos in film and a shining example of the empowering stories that Latino advocates have long urged Hollywood to tell. Congratulations to Mucho Mas Media and the talented Latino creators behind ‘THE LONG GAME’ for this landmark accomplishment.”

“Mucho Mas Media is grateful and honored to have our film “THE LONG GAME” be showcased at the White House.  We want to thank The Biden Administration, The Hispanic Heritage Foundation, as well as U.S. Congressman Castro and U.S. Congressman Gomez for their support.  And, we want to congratulate director Julio Quintana and the creative team for bringing this incredible American Latino story to life…  to inspire, entertain and unite all audiences.” Vincent Cordero (Co-CEO & Chief Business Officer) & Javier Chapa (Co-CEO & Chief Creative Officer)
