Partnership includes support of the Hispanic Heritage Awards & presentation of Financial Empowerment Charlas

WASHINGTON, DC – The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) announced today the renewal of a partnership that designates Nationwide as the Foundation’s Official Insurance and Financial Services Partner. In that capacity, Nationwide will serve as the Broadcast Sponsor and Medallion Presenter of the 34th Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards. For the third year in a row, Nationwide will host the 2022 Financial Empowerment Charlas series to provide financial education to Latinas and Latinos across the country.

“We are thrilled to welcome back Nationwide as the Official Insurance and Financial Services Partner to the Hispanic Heritage Foundation,” said Antonio Tijerino, President and CEO of HHF.  “Through this meaningful partnership, we will not only celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with all of America through the Hispanic Heritage Awards on the PBS Broadcast, but we will also bring our community together for Charlas to discuss issues that affect us financially, as well as push out important financial education content to our network.”

“Nationwide’s partnership with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation helps us connect with the Hispanic community in a variety of significant ways,” said Ramon Jones, Chief Marketing Officer at Nationwide. “Supporting the Hispanic Heritage Awards show, showcasing Hispanic Heritage Month and presenting valuable financial education through the Charlas are terrific opportunities for us to empower the community and show how Nationwide is on the side of Hispanic consumers, business owners and entrepreneurs.”

The 34th Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards will take place on October 8th, and air on PBS television stations nationally. The Hispanic Heritage Awards, created by the White House in 1988 to commemorate the establishment of Hispanic Heritage Month in America, are among the highest honors by Latinos for Latinos and supported by 40 national Hispanic-serving institutions.

The Financial Empowerment Charlas are part of a robust campaign launched in 2020 by Nationwide and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation to develop a culturally-influenced financial education series to help our community understand and attain financial wellness.
