LOFT New Year’s Charla Unites Latino Leaders in LA

Hispanic Heritage Foundation

The Hispanic Heritage Foundation’s LOFT Charla series kicked off 2017 with our New Year’s LOFT Charla this past Saturday, January 14, 2017 in Downtown Los Angeles. Our Charlas are local, self-organized discussions led by community leaders across the country. The Charlas were created to inspire and connect leaders from different backgrounds in a supportive family like environment.

A full crowd of over 50 Latino Leaders in the Greater Los Angeles sparked meaningful conversations and connected about topics that are affecting Latinos day to day.

Topics that were covered at our New Year’s LOFT Charla included startups, entrepreneurship, women’s advocacy, mentorship, media and entertainment, STEM, software engineering and so much more! Our LOFT Charlas are a great way to bring exposure to anything that you feel is important, and the feedback you will receive is beyond measurable.

Participants not only learn about each other during the discussions and presentations, but during the networking breaks as well.

Speaker Ana Karen Rivera said, “This was a great opportunity for me to network with other people, and not just network, but listen to what they’re doing and how they’re progressing in the Latino community. I would attend other LOFT Charla events because I feel like this is what’s going to propel change in the Latino community, and it’s a great way to facilitate conversations between other passionate professionals.”

The Charlas are important because as a speaker your voice is heard, and as a participant you can listen, engage, and be a part of the conversation. The Latino community continues to be one of the fastest growing communities in the U.S., and the Charlas are a great opportunity to hear about this growth all around the country.

Our next LOFT Charla, “Confronting Race En Comunidad: A LOFT Charla Series,” focused on Racism within the Afro-Latino/ LatinX communities will take place on February 4th, 2017 in Washington, D.C. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to hear different stories, network, and be a part of our family!
