The Hispanic Heritage Foundation Supports T-Mobile-Sprint Merger And Benefits It Promises Latino Communities through Tech Equity

WASHINGTON, DC – The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF), a nonprofit focused on education, workforce , leadership and culture issued the following statement of support for the T-Mobile-Sprint merger.

“Eighty percent of Hispanic students who do not have regular access to a computer at home use their smartphones to access the internet and do their homework – and that requires broadband access. The New T-Mobile’s nationwide 5G network will bring broadband access to Hispanic communities across the country helping to improve what we call the Tech-Equity or “homework gap”, also known as the digital divide,” said Hispanic Heritage Foundation President and CEO Antonio Tijerino. “As a community we need accelerated innovation and opportunity for all especially our youth.”
