The 18th Annual National Youth Awards is next Thursday, Jan 26 in Miami! The National Youth Awards honors 8 top latino students who have excelled both in the classroom and in the community. HHF is honored to have Latin Grammy-nominated DJ, Producer Mr. Pauer perform at our reception from 6-7 p.m.

Mr. Pauer was born in the Caribbean city of Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela, and has been based in Miami, FL. for over 21 years. When listening to his music, the rhythmic sounds make the listeners feel like they are in Miami itself.

He is the creator of his signature sound called “Electropico,” a fusion of electric dance music mixed with other music genres like Salsa, Reggae, Cumbia, and many others.

“Living back in Venezuela I grew up listening to Anglo and Spanish rock, my mother used to listen to boleros, my dad to traditional Venezuelan music, my older brothers to American 80’s pop, and to socialize I had to learn how to dance salsa and merengue. Magically after years, I connected the dots unconsciously creating an array of sounds that identify with the culture I grew up with,” said Mr. Pauer.

Mr. Pauer’s debut album “Soundtrack,” gave him a nomination for “Best Alternative Album,” at the 12th Annual Latin Grammy Awards.

El Nuevo Herald stated, “A tasteful rhythm mix, an extravagant culture fusion, an array of latin sounds and electronica, all in one: That is “Soundtrack,” Mr. Pauer’s first CD, the adoptive child of Miami.”

In 2016, Mr. Pauer was selected as one of 10 people who move Miami by Indulge Magazine. He has also performed at festivals like Vive Latino 2015 in Mexico City, and Festival 7 Mares in Lima, Peru.

Making great music is a talent that requires a special love and care, and his uplifting sounds bring joy to latinos across the whole country! You can listen to Mr. Pauer’s tracks and playlists on SoundCloud.
