The Hispanic Heritage Foundation would like to invite you to “Exploring Opportunities and Diversity in Economics”, a discussion and roundtable for students interested in the field of economics. The event will be hosted by the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C. on October 6th!

This is a unique opportunity for students to learn from some of the nation’s leading economists about the many opportunities in this important field. Students will learn what economists work on and how economics makes a difference in the world, coming away with an appreciation for the practical steps and training needed to become an economist, as well as career options available in this field. You’ll learn from research assistants at the FRB, be introduced to the Fed’s mentoring program, and have a chance to ask questions at a roundtable Q&A.

If you are interested in attending but don’t live in the D.C. area, you may be able to listen in live or this event will be taped and videos of questions and responses will be shared! We encourage all students who are interested in attending or submitting a question for our Q&A to apply! Learn more here.

The Fed is the nation’s central bank and is responsible for conducting monetary policy to promote maximum employment, stable prices, and moderate long-term interest rates. Economists at the Board work on a wide range of interesting issues ranging from analyzing domestic and international economic developments to studying trends impacting inflation, wage growth and productivity. The Board also promotes the stability of the financial system and seeks to minimize and contain systemic risks through active monitoring and engagement in the U.S. and abroad.

Get involved in HHF’s Latinos on Fast Track (LOFT) Network, and connect with thousands of students and young professionals, along with trainings and workshops where hundreds of minorities are placed in internships, mentorships, fellowships and full-time positions with Fortune 500 companies and government agencies.
