Applications for the 21st Annual Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards are available online for Puerto Rico

High School Seniors Can Apply in Various Categories for the Opportunity to Receive Educational Grants, and Join Leadership Pipelines in Colleges and the Workforce.

 SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO – The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) has extended the deadline to apply to the 21st Annual Youth Awards for high school students in Puerto Rico. A grant will be provided to the awardees for their education or to support their social innovation efforts as well as being promoted as role models through social media campaigns. The 2019 Youth Awards application is available at www.hispanicheritage.org, and must be submitted no later than December 2, 2019.

High school students in Puerto Rico must demonstrate leadership in the classroom and community in addition to an interest in the following categories: (applicants can apply to more than one category) 

  • Business & Entrepreneurship
  • Education
  • Community Service
  •  Media & Entertainment
  • Healthcare & Science
  • Technology & Engineering

The 2019 Youth Awards Regional Ceremonies will take place in front of influential audiences from December – January in the following regions: Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Phoenix, Northern California, Washington, DC, and for the first time, Puerto Rico. In each of the regions, three students (Gold, Silver, and Bronze) will be honored in each of the categories. Please check the calendar for the regional ceremony and join us in paying tribute to another class of remarkable high school students.

After the Youth Awards Regional Ceremonies conclude, one national recipient will be recognized in each of the categories (six at this time) and be celebrated at the National Youth Awards Ceremony along with a celebrity. A social media campaign positioning the Youth Awardees as role models for other youths and as a representation of what can be accomplished will be rolled out with select Youth Awardees.

Recipients of the Youth Awards plus the applicants will be vetted and funneled into HHF’s Latinos On Fast Track (LOFT) network where they will be connected to 150,000 other students and professionals; access workshops/symposia/summits; as well as internships and full-time positions with Fortune 500 Companies.
