LOFT Hosted A New Years Retreat In Los Angeles

Local leaders discuss issues on a range of topics

Los Angeles, CA – January 4, 2014 – The Latinos On Fast Track (LOFT) Institute hosted its New Years LOFT Retreat for a culturally diverse group of over 50 local leaders. Attendees included representatives from Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti’s office and other commissioners. El Sereno Branch Public Library hosted and co-sponsored the event.

The retreat included presentations by almost 40 speakers from various industries, including technology, business, politics, entertainment, education, and non-profit. Discussion topics were varied and included the role of Latinos in politics, professional issues facing trans-women, advice on raising children who excel in science, and a Peace Corps volunteer’s experiences in Kiribati, among other topics.
