HHF & FLYi Fest At Miami Dade College!

Hispanic Heritage Foundation

The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) is working with the Florida League of Young Immigrants (FLYi) to host FLYi Fest on Saturday, March 11th at Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus in Downtown Miami!

FLYi Fest seeks to ease the transition of new immigrants into the local community, and provide them with the resources needed to succeed. The festival is held for one day from 10 am- 5pm, and establishes  a direct link between the newly arrived immigrants and local organizations in the Miami area.

Our 2016 National Youth Awardee, Debora Gonzalez, is part of the Florida League of Young Immigrants, and is a true example of a Latina leader working in her community. She was the National Healthcare recipient for our Youth Awards program and being involved in her community has always been an integral part in her life.

Debora is the Founder and Manager of FLYi, which is also accompanied by a peer mentoring program whose mission is to provide inspiration and concrete connections as they transition into their new home.

HHF is honored to work with FLYi Fest in helping others network, communicate their ideas and connect them with the resources they need! Our involvement in the community is needed now more than ever, and we are inspired that our National Youth Awardee is doing amazing work with FLYi!
