Hispanic Heritage Foundation and Bacardi announce 10 recipients of the 2024 Visión Verde grant
Recipients from Arizona, California, DC, Florida, Maryland, New York, Texas, and Washington State will collectively receive $100,000 to add sustainable elements to business models
WASHINGTON, DC -The Hispanic Heritage Foundation and Bacardi U.S.A., Inc, have announced the recipients of the 2024 Visión Verde grant. This year, 10 Latinx/Hispanic entrepreneurs from the beverage alcohol service, sales, and hospitality industries across the United States have been selected to receive $10,000 each to bring their sustainable projects to life. In addition to the financial support, the grant recipients participated in a sustainability workshop to inspire greener ideas for their businesses with the session focusing on key sustainability topics such as waste prevention and management, reducing carbon and water footprint, and improving energy efficiency.

- Selina Barajas – Luna y Sol Café – Tucson, AZ
- Victoria Elizondo – Cochinita & Co. – Houston, TX
“Latino small businesses continue to grow at an accelerated rate in the United States move our economy and job growth going forward,” said Antonio Tijerino, President and CEO of HHF. “Entrepreneurship is in our blood and despite challenges, we continue to make a significant impact through vision, creativity and ganas. Latino entrepreneurship is good for our community, our country and we want to make sure it’s also good for our globe and through the innovative Visión Verde program with Bacardi, we want to support Latino business not only grow but become more sustainable as part of their business model. These 10 Latino businesses are an example of what is possible and needed.”
Nearly 300 applicants submitted to the 2024 Visión Verde grant and every one had access to Coctelería Consciente, a Hispanic-owned sustainability consultancy specializing in the hospitality sector. They received sustainability tools to support the delivery of their sustainable business initiatives through three hourlong sessions.
In its inaugural year, the Visión Verde grant distributed $100,000 among 10 businesses in Greater Miami. Building on the success of last year’s program, the grant opportunity was expanded to all entrepreneurs in the U.S. who are looking to grow their businesses with a sustainable vision.
