The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) hosted its 6th Latino Investors Dinner this past week at LAO Table in San Francisco, South Market Area.

The Latino Investors Dinner is a platform that cultivates an ecosystem of Latino investment professionals to support each other’s career. The dinner is part of the LOFT Investors Forum, a larger effort of building a community of Latino investment professionals.

Hernan Fernandez, Manager Partner at Angel Ventures Mexico and Jackie Hyland, Director of Latin America at Sillicon Valley Bank hosted the dinner! Emanuel Pleitez, Board Chair at HHF and Board Member Stacie Olivares- Castain were in attendance as well.

“I am so happy for this networking event because network is power,” said Hernan.

LOFT Investors Forum Manager, Jessica Herrera said, “This dinner was the 6th dinner of the series, and it definitely shows how we’ve progressed. We were able to bring in more people who hadn’t had the opportunity to connect. The purpose of the dinner is to bring together Latino investors and find a way to stay connected and help each other out in any way possible.”

Latino Investment Dinners have also taken place in Los Angeles and New York, and this dinner brought together Latino tech investors from the Bay area. “It was great getting feedback from the attendees that they found the dinner fruitful. We definitely gained interest from some folks on how HHF and their firms can join forces for future dinners, and how we can work together for the upcoming Forum,” said Jessica.

The LOFT Investors Forum is less than 2 months away, and will be taking place on June 21st and June 22nd in Chicago! The LOFT Investors Forum is a unique initiative centered around educational trainings for Latino institutional investment professionals including: trustees, investment staff, asset managers, and other relevant industry stakeholders.

Some of the pensions confirmed to attend the Forum include Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System, Illinois State Treasury, Teachers’ Retirement System of Texas, New Mexico Public Employees’ Retirement System, Policemen’s Annuity Benefit Fund of Chicago Teacher’s Retirement System of Illinois, Illinois State Treasury, Fire and Police Pension Association of Colorado, and New York City Mayor’s Office of Pensions and Investment, only a few of many more!
