WASHINGTON, DC -The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) announced today the final roster of sponsors for the 34th Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards to be broadcast on Friday, October 8th, on PBS stations (Watch the trailer HERE for the Awards).
The Hispanic Heritage Awards are among the highest honors by Latinos for Latinos and are considered “America’s Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration” after being established in 1988 by the White House to commemorate the creation of Hispanic Heritage Month in America. The 2021 Hispanic Heritage Awards’ Honorees include: Carlos Santana (Legend), Ivy Queen (Vision), Salma Hayek (Arts), Coach Ron Rivera (Sports), Kali Uchis (Inspira), and NASA’s Clara O’Farrell, Christina Hernandez, and Diana Trujillo (STEM). The Awards will also be doing a tribute to the 60th anniversary of West Side Story.
“The Hispanic Heritage Foundation is grateful to our longtime Presenting Sponsor Target, Broadcast Sponsor Nationwide, and Medallion Sponsors Boeing, Coca-Cola, T-Mobile, Southwest Airlines, AARP and all of our dedicated sponsors for once again joining us in shining a spotlight on the great value proposition we offer America through our Honorees and our culture overall,” said Jose Antonio Tijerino, President and CEO of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. “Their support is even more appreciated as we continue to deal with health, economic and social issues during a time when many are stepping back – these corporate partners have stepped up. Their support will have a tremendous impact on our community through our year-round mission beyond the Hispanic Heritage Awards.”
This year’s Hispanic Heritage Awards, modeled after last year’s PBS broadcast, will once again feature more intimately filmed performances and Honoree segments captured on location across the United States and Latin America. Last year’s program had the highest ratings and reached more people in the PBS Broadcasts’ history with Awardees including Bad Bunny, Selena Gomez, Linda Ronstadt, Jessica Alba, John Lewis, Farmworkers, and Sebastian Yatra.
