Third Annual NFL Latino Youth Honors to Award Top Student-Athletes Across NFL Markets
NFL, Hispanic Heritage Foundation and Procter & Gamble Recognize Trailblazing Youth Football Players Making an Impact in Latino Culture and Communities
NEW YORK — The National Football League and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) are proud to announce the third annual NFL Latino Youth Honors, recognizing high school seniors of every background from across NFL club markets who not only excel on the field and in the classroom, but also contribute to or engage meaningfully with Latino culture and community. Procter & Gamble will serve as the presenting sponsor of the Latino Youth Honors.
The NFL and the HHF have highlighted impactful individuals for many years, with this program focused on honoring outstanding youth football players. NFL Latino Youth Honors celebrates high school seniors across NFL club markets who excel in the classroom and on the football field. Eight high school seniors will each receive a grant award that can be used for college, including $25,000 grants for both the male and female national winners and $5,000 grants for each of the six other finalists.
“The NFL Latino Youth Honors is more than a recognition program – it’s a celebration of the powerful role culture, character and community play in shaping the next generation of leaders,” said Marissa Solis, NFL senior vice president of global brand & consumer marketing. “These student-athletes represent the best of our sport, including discipline, pride and purpose, and we’re proud to partner with Procter & Gamble and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation to spotlight these young changemakers who are excelling on the field and in the classroom and ultimately uplifting Latino culture in meaningful ways.”
All 32 NFL teams are invited to select a male and female high school senior football player to represent their team and submit these exemplary student-athletes to be considered for this year’s program. The selection criteria for the NFL Latino Youth Honors includes:
- Being a high school senior
- A flag or tackle football player
- Based in or near the 32 NFL team markets
- Be in good academic standing (minimum GPA 3.0)
- Verifiable football stats (season and career), with designation of tackle or flag
This process led to the nomination of 62 outstanding student-athletes from all 32 NFL clubs. Many were honored during Latino Heritage Month celebrations hosted by their nominating teams. From this talented pool, a panel will select eight finalists, each representing one of the eight NFL divisions.
“At the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, we believe that leadership is cultivated through purpose, culture, and service,” said Jose Antonio Tijerino, president and CEO of the HHF. “The NFL Latino Youth Honors exemplifies that belief by recognizing student-athletes who are not only excelling in football and academics, but also in their deep commitment to uplifting Latino culture and community. We are grateful, proud, and thrilled to partner with the NFL and P&G to not only spotlight these young leaders, but to lift and propel them forward. Their impact will be felt.”
In addition to the eight finalists receiving a grant award that can be used for college, they will also participate in a variety of special events taking place in San Francisco during Super Bowl LX Week. Activities will be designed to provide mentorship, guidance and resources to pursue careers in the sports industry. During that week, a male and female national winner will be announced, with the recipients receiving an invitation to HHF’s National Youth Awards ceremony later in 2026.
