In recognition of their efforts, $125,000 in grants will be distributed to outstanding organizations from nine states and Washington, D.C

WASHINGTON, D.C. The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) proudly announced today the recipients of the 2024 ‘Fresh Food Access For All’ challenge, an initiative focused on combating food insecurity through innovative and impactful solutions.

“Latinos are twice more likely to experience food insecurity including one in three children that don’t have reliable food access,” said Antonio Tijerino, President and CEO of HHF. “This crisis in our community continues to impact everything from education to the workforce to our health and family stability.  We believe the answer to any issue in our community can be best addressed by our community. This program identifies, supports, and shares in the vision of entrepreneurs and social entrepreneurs, providing creative ideas and initiatives to nourish our community.”

Supported by The Kroger Co. Foundation, this year’s challenge highlights the extraordinary contributions of Latino-owned small businesses, startups, and community-serving organizations across the United States. These groups are actively addressing food insecurity within their communities by creating greater access to healthy and affordable food options.

In recognition of their efforts, $125,000 in grants will be distributed to outstanding organizations from nine states and Washington, D.C., including Arizona, California, Colorado, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, and the nation’s capital.
