Hispanic Heritage Foundation highlights gaming’s power to shape education and career paths at the 2025 Games For Change Festival
NEW YORK, NY – Continuing its commitment to leveraging gaming for education, social good, wellness, and beyond, the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) President and CEO Antonio Tijerino will address the 2025 Games for Change Festival, June 26-27, at the Parsons School of Design at The New School. Attendees will hear from leading experts in game development, healthcare, technology, and social impact, showcasing how games and immersive media can shape a better future.
Tijerino will take the stage for the HHF session titled “PLAY ON: Gaming as a Catalyst for Education, Career Pathways, and Exploration.” His talk will highlight HHF’s partnership with Minecraft Edu, demonstrating how gaming enhances education, builds skills, creates career pathways, and strengthens cultural connections.
“Through immersive gameplay, students develop critical thinking, take creative risks, collaborate effectively, and refine visual-spatial and motor skills,” said Tijerino, who worked with Minecraft Edu on two versions of Latin Explorers. “Additionally, these games support individualized learning by providing real-world contexts that make education more engaging and practical. We are grateful to Games for Change for providing such an important platform and Minecraft Edu for the innovative partnership.”
With the theme “Designing for Tomorrow,” the festival brings together a diverse group of visionaries, ranging from industry veterans to next-generation innovators, to explore how gaming and XR technologies can break down barriers and drive meaningful impact in critical areas such as education, healthcare, and sustainability.
“We’re thrilled to have the Hispanic Heritage Foundation speaking at the 2025 Games for Change Festival, an event where video games are more than play – they are a powerful platform for social impact, education, and opportunity,” said Susanna Pollack, president of Games for Change. “Antonio’s session highlights how organizations can partner to equip youth with the skills they need to thrive in the games industry and unlock real-world potential.”
